Sales Manager, US

Sales & Marketing

OVERVIEW:

The Sales Manager is responsible for leadership of Aquatrols’ U.S. Territory Managers and the growth of the U.S. business. This position will be required to provide accurate forecasting information from company distributors to the Marketing and Sales Directors, and must be comfortable collaborating with marketing in order to support company campaigns. This role will also be responsible for managing expenses of the business.  This position will report to the Director of Sales.

OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific Responsibilities – Business
• Responsible for reaching EBITDA targets through an agreed product mix

• Provide input on future portfolio needs and opportunities

• Collaborate with technical and marketing colleagues in the UK and US to identify ongoing opportunities

• Develop, monitor and execute annual forecasts that can deliver gross margin aspirations; communicate to stakeholders

• Monitor and implement distribution and end-user programs, provide input on changes

• Work with Sales, Operations, Technical and Marketing, to ensure consistency in programs and commercial messages to the key distributors

• Lead the Strategic Account Management process, inspect routinely and coach as needed

• Manage customer complaints

• Proactively identify growth opportunities via existing portfolio and also acquisition targets

• Execute the distribution strategy while making recommendations for additions or changes

• Implement Time and Territory Management practices that maximize account manager in-person meeting and travel time

• Maintain high level of collaboration with Product Managers

Specific Responsibilities – People
• Develop, inspect and coach to annual PPTs and objectives

• Conduct routine Check Ins to ensure clarity of performance relative to targets

• Manage time off and holiday requests

• Ensure timeliness of administrative tasks for the US team

• Create sales meetings with structured and clear outcomes producing actionable tasks leaving the sessions

• Ensure a team culture that is engaging, focused on individual development and ensures retention

• Career and development plans in place for identified top talent

• Continually recruit top talent

• Institute process and training to extend team strengths and cover any knowledge or skill gaps

General responsibilities:
• Participate in routine sales manager calls and webinars

• Proactively solve for in-field issues as they arise

• Communicate effectively with senior leadership, peers and team members

• Be viewed as a significant influencer within the industry

• Limit surprises within the business and the US team members

• Attend training courses, exhibitions & shows as and when required

• Carry out any other duties as may be required by the company from time to time

REQUIRED:

  •  Industry Experience
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Eligibility to Work in the U.S.
  • Two Professional References
  • Previous Relevant Experience in Line with Job Description
  • Willing to Travel and Stay Overnight
